What we ask for when you send an enquiry, why we need it, who else sees it, and how to have it deleted. In plain words, not legal ones.

Who we are

Nie Makeup Artist is a bridal makeup and hair business run by Stefany Morales in Essendon North, Victoria 3041, Australia. ABN: [pending]. This policy explains what we do with the personal information you give us through this website, and it follows the Australian Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

If you have a question about anything here, email niemakeupartist@gmail.com.

What we collect

When you send an enquiry or request a quote we ask for your name, email address and phone number, the date and time of your event, and the services you want. Depending on the service we also ask for the address where you will be getting ready, your venue address, a second address if you need a touch-up later in the day, the number of people in your party, your photographer's name, and how you heard about us.

The notes field is free text and is optional. Anything you choose to write there is stored with your enquiry.

When you use the chat on this site, what you type is sent to the assistant so it can answer you. Do not put anything in the chat you would not want stored.

We also record which pages are visited, roughly where visitors arrive from (Instagram, Google, a direct link) and whether the device is a phone or a computer. This is counted in aggregate and is not tied to you: we do not store your IP address for this.

Health information, and why we ask

The notes field invites you to tell us about allergies or skin sensitivities. Under Australian privacy law that is health information, which is treated more carefully than an email address.

We only ever have it because you chose to write it, and by writing it you consent to us using it. We use it for one thing: to keep your skin safe on the day, by choosing products that suit you. If another artist from Stefany's network is assigned to your booking, it is passed to them for the same reason. It is never used for marketing and never shared with anyone else.

You do not have to tell us. If you would rather discuss it in person, leave the field blank and raise it at your trial or on the day.

If you start the form and do not finish it

The enquiry form saves what you have typed as you go, so you do not lose it if your phone rings or the page closes. That means we may hold your name, email, phone and event details even if you never pressed send.

We may use that to follow up once and ask whether you still need a quote. If you would rather we did not, reply to that email or write to niemakeupartist@gmail.com and we will delete it straight away.

Why we collect it

To prepare your quote, to work out the travel charge from where you are getting ready, to hold your date once the deposit is paid, to put the booking in the calendar with the address and time, to send you the emails that go with your booking, and to answer you when you write back.

We do not sell your information to anyone, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

Only the services that make the booking work, and only what each one needs:

Supabase stores the database. Vercel hosts this website. Stripe processes the card payment for your deposit - your card details are entered on Stripe's own page and never reach our systems or our database. Google provides the email we send from, the calendar your booking is placed into, and the address lookup and distance calculation used to quote your travel charge. Anthropic provides the assistant behind the chat. Upstash schedules the reminder emails.

If Stefany cannot attend your booking herself, she may assign an artist from her network. That artist is given your name, phone number, address and the notes relevant to your service, so they can do the job properly.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

Where your information is stored

Some of the services above hold data outside Australia. Our database is hosted in India and our website hosting, payment processing and email are in the United States. This means your information is disclosed overseas, which Australian Privacy Principle 8 requires us to tell you.

These are established providers with their own security commitments, and we only use the ones we need. If you would prefer your enquiry not be handled this way, contact us before sending it.

Cookies and tracking

This site does not track you. There is no Google Analytics, no Facebook or Instagram pixel, and no advertising or profiling tool of any kind. Nothing follows you to other websites.

The visitor counts described above are collected without cookies and without identifying anyone. The only cookie this site sets is for Stefany when she signs in to manage bookings, and it is never set for visitors.

Because of that, this site does not need a cookie consent banner - there is nothing to consent to.

How long we keep it

Confirmed bookings and their payment records are kept for seven years, which is what Australian tax law requires for business records.

Enquiries that did not turn into a booking are deleted after twelve months. Partly filled forms that were never sent are deleted after six months.

You can ask us to delete your information sooner at any time.

Seeing, correcting or deleting your information

Email niemakeupartist@gmail.com and ask. You can request a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct anything that is wrong, or ask us to delete it.

We will respond within 30 days. The one thing we cannot delete on request is the record of a booking that has been paid for, until the seven years of tax record-keeping have passed - but everything else goes.

If something goes wrong

If there is a data breach that is likely to cause you serious harm, we are required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme to tell you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as soon as we can, explain what happened and what you should do.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, write to us first at niemakeupartist@gmail.com and we will try to sort it out. If you are still not satisfied you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. This version is the one that applies today.
